DC-SAT.NET Works With European Service Providers to Rehouse Rembrandt's Masterwork-
The SATLYNX versatile two-way high-speed satellite Broadband Interactive platform, (BBI), was used by communications company DC-Sat.Net to ensure the safe relocation of Rembrandt's most famous masterpiece "The Night Watch" to the new, Philips wing of Amsterdam's Rijks Museum.
DC-Sat.Net worked in tandem with European service provider BySky, to aid Philips in the relocation project. BySky undertook the task of application integration with the Philips team, whilst providing DC-Sat.Net with local support in Amsterdam. BySky was earlier this year asked by ESA to support an e-learning and telecare project for the European Union. BySky BV is a value added satellite service provider, experienced since 1999 and is situated In North of Netherlands

In dealing with the transportation of this most precious artwork, it was necessary to strictly monitor the painting's environmental data throughout its journey. Dc-Sat.net provided Philips and Amsterdam's Rijks Museum with the essential connectivity it required so that the humidity of the environment, and the humidity of the painting itself could be closely marked- ensuring its safety.
Given the cultural and artistic importance of "The Night Watch", the recorded data was made available to a global community of art lovers who tuned in to view the streamed relocation of Rembrandt's masterwork. The operation provided a seamless example of service providers working together to provide pan-European coverage of the event.
